About me

Welcome! I’m a 38-year-old guy living in South London who, it’s fair to say, had become rather uninspired by my existence. I was certainly not fulfilling the dreams of my youth.

I strongly believe in self-determination. I do not believe the universe owes me anything unless I take steps to achieve something and, upon reminding myself of that, I am actively taking steps to live my best life by 40 and beyond.

I started this site to detail my quest to better myself and enable me to live my best life – for accountability and as a place to detail my thoughts and diary my achievements, and perhaps some of you might find this interesting.

I’ve quickly realised that this is underpinned by my decision to live sober and quit drinking.

I aim to update on all endeavours I am embarking on to live my best life beyond 40 and along the way you can expect updates on this, plus my general ponderings on alcohol, life and anything in between.

As I’m a gay male, I hope that in this blog I also am making my own contribution to the sobersphere, however small that contribution might be.

One day I will “come out” (again!) and reveal who I am. But as I expect to probably reveal some rather embarrassing truths, that time is not now!
